Why Does My First Car Keep Misting Up Inside?

Moisture inside the car is usually the reason. Wet clothes, blocked ventilation, a damp cabin filter or an actual water leak can all make demisting harder.

Use the ventilation properly

Direct warm air at the screen, switch air conditioning on if fitted and avoid recirculation when trying to clear heavy mist.

Look for persistent damp

Wet carpets, a musty smell or mist that returns constantly can point to water entering the cabin.

Clean glass helps

A greasy film on the inside of the windscreen attracts moisture and makes glare worse at night.

A water leak is normally a maintenance problem, but damage from a specific insured event can be different. Check the policy rather than guessing.
