Possibly, but only when there is valid insurance covering you on that particular car. A full driving licence by itself is not enough.
cover for driving another car is often misunderstood
Some policies give certain policyholders limited cover to drive another car, but it is not universal and may have age, ownership or other restrictions. New drivers should never assume it exists.
Temporary cover can be an option
For a genuine short-term need, separate temporary insurance may sometimes be available. Read who is covered, which car is covered and the exact start and finish times.
Permission still matters
Insurance does not replace the owner's permission. You also need to know whether the car is roadworthy and legal to use.
If you frequently need access to another car, compare the longer-term options rather than repeatedly arranging cover at the last minute.
